Spring Break

Brett's spring break is this week. He has been spending the night with family and friends since I'm not really supposed to take Addison out in public until she is six weeks old. She is getting a personality. She wants to be held all the time. It's hard not to pick her up when she cries. I've added a two and three week picture of her. Two week picture is on top and three weeks is on bottom.

Weekly Update

Last Saturday was opening day at the ball park. Joe, Mom, Dad, and Sheryl went to the ball game to watch Brett play while I stayed home with Addison. I also missed Monday night's game. Joe went back to work this week so Mom took Brett and spent the night with us. Joe came home early last night so I could go watch Brett. He did great! He pitched the first two innings then played short stop and catcher. I have posted a video clip of him pitching during the first inning. Addison is gaining her birth weight back as you can see from the picture that I have posted. This picture was taken on Monday (one week old). If you compare it to the other picture posted of her (3 days old) you can see how much she has already changed. Lucy (our cat) is jealous of Addison. Lucy wants attention from whoever is holding the baby. I have added a picture of Joe with Addison and Lucy. Isn't it cute?

Addison Claire Walsh

Addison was born on Monday the 24th which was the day after Easter. Her arrival date couldn't have been more special. It was the day after Easter last year that we learned of our miscarriage after our second round of IVF. We were released from the hospital yesterday on the 26th. This date was our third wedding anniversary. God is so good! I've posted some pictures (above) and a video clip (below) of our little miracle. We can't wait for everyone to meet her. Brett is already such a great big brother. He washes his hands as soon as he gets home from school so he can hold his baby sister. She is already such a blessing in our lives. Everything that we have been through to get to this point has already proved it was worth it!

Week 34

Last week was crazy! Addison is ready to make her appearance in this world. Tuesday night I had to stay in the hospital for preterm labor. They put me on a new medication to help control the contractions. I am already 1 cm and 40-50%. I thought I wouldn't be seen again until this Wed. but I ended back up in the hospital Sat. night. We were coming home from Brett's basketball party and were rear ended at a red light by some friends of ours on the basketball team. I had to go in for monitoring for a few hours. I started having contractions again but the medicine finally kicked in toward the end of the monitoring window so we didn't have to spend the night again! Hopefully this week will be much calmer.
As for Brett, basketball ended on a Saturday and baseball resumed the following Thurs. He is not doing the travel team anymore. Instead, he is going to play in Fairhope. He is disappointed but I am relieved. I think it will be much easier with a new baby arriving soon. He is doing very well. Grades are good and he is staying active in sports. Behavior...well, that is getting better with him and Lucy (our cat). I think both have been acting out b/c of the upcoming arrival of Addison. I know he is excited about being a big brother but I'm sure he's wondering how her birth will impact him. I hope everyone is doing well. I will post again on Wed. after my Dr. appt.

Baby Shower & Nursery pics

This past Sunday was my baby shower. It was great to have all of my friends and family over to celebrate this time in my life. Mom and Candice out did theirselves on the food and decorations. Many people also remembered Brett. It was nice to have him not feel left out. We have just about everything we need now, except Addison. Right now I'm 33 weeks. Not too much longer!!!
I've included a picture of her nursery. Enjoy!

Brett's Basketball Game

Brett did awesome at his basketball game yesterday. The game went into overtime and both teams had 17 points. Brett scored 7 of the points for his team. One of his shots was a 3 pointer!!! They played hard, but lost in the final 30 seconds of the game. Hope you enjoy this clip.

30 Weeks

Today Joe and I repeated our 4D ultrasound. I drank a little caffine before the appointment hoping it would encourage her to move around a little more. It worked. I've included two cute video clips from this morning. Today she weighed 3lbs. 8 oz.
